Greeter this week: David and Sharon Werrett

Greetings to all member and guests.
I find being a member of our E-Club is very gratifying when I see comments about the weekly meeting from members and guests who reside in such diverse locations.
Members of our club extend across Canada, into Latin America and the Caribbean and two members in Europe. Our guests who attend the weekly meetings are from across Canada and the U.S.A. but also from outside the North American continent.  We are happy to see many of our guests return frequently to do a weekly meeting.
So at this time of the year we would like to wish all our members and guests best wishes for the season.  Where you live the greeting may be Feliz Navidad, Fröhliche Weihnachten, Joyeux Noël or Feliz Natal but whatever language you speak as Rotarians we look forward to a New Year of peace and happiness.
May you have a joyous and happy festive season with family and Rotarian friends.

Rotary: Making a Difference
No matter where you are across this world,
You’ll find a thoughtful person there whose care,
Connected is with that bold flag unfurled -
A blue and golden wheel it’s known to bear,
See, there they are in Panama’s South clime,
Or North in Canada and Germany,
In West of USA, Russia’s East time,
America Centrale, or out at sea.
Yes, when these members go to plant some trees,
In Mexico’s sweet warm and scented breeze,
And those in England fund to end disease
Of polio, and Anna brings her sense,
While under fire, to Africans’ defence -
Rotary is making a difference.

E-Club Board Meeting
Wonderful progress and communication. Inch by inch we progress to clarification of our varying points of view and gradually to a common understanding. Can we bring this to fruition in positive action, engagement, and understanding?

Lynne Ternosky, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

This was an excellent selection of a speaker program. I have never considered the effect of "remittances" in the global economy, perhaps because my knowledge of them was based on the mistaken belief that they amounted to very little. The program offered a new awareness and was very educational.
Robert Boyden, RC of Canmore, D-5360

It is true that our perception of time differs from reality greatly.  It is important to schedule down time or time to think during the week.  For me, I find it particularly important to not only manage time, but manage energy.  Laura's mention of how the small time wasters add up is important.  While the 2 hours of Netflix would seem to be an obvious candidate for elimination, it's often the small things that erode focus and time quietly.  Also, retention of time logs is important to measuring where time is given.
Christopher Harper, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Reclaimed land, the methods and its supporters have in certain scientific circles come under concentrated challenge because there is little proof that it works in all circumstances.
