E-Club Draw for Foundation

Your attendance could earn you Paul Harris Points.
The Rotary E-club of Canada One is excited to announce that effective immediately, all our attending guests who make a donation to our club in lieu of a meal, fines or happy bucks, will have the opportunity to have their name entered in a draw in support of the Rotary Foundation.
When you attend our weekly e-meeting, and make a donation to our club, your name will be entered in a quarterly draw. The first draw will take place at the April Board meeting and will include the names of Guests who have made a donation since January 1st of this year.
At this draw, the club will donate CDN$200.00 on the winner's behalf, earning points to his or her Paul Harris award. $100.00 is a contribution from the e-club, the other $100.00 is a generous match from one of our e-club members.
The next quarterly draw will be CDN$100.00, unless a match is received from another generous Rotarian.
Winners will have the opportunity to showcase their club or their favorite Rotary Project in future e-meetings in the form of a Greeter Message and are also invited to attend our monthly Fellowship Assembly via GoToMeeting.

Rotary E-Club Public Relations Video
The Board recently approved the making of a 1 to 1.5 minute promo video, to be posted on various Social Media sites, as well as our own club website.
To get an idea of what we are trying to accomplish, please take a look at this video:
- All members are invited to submit one or more, 10 second video clips.
- Not all submissions will be used; The videographer will decide which are most appropriate for this montage and may use small sections of the clip only.
- Deadline for submission is April 15, 2016
- Videos can be recorded on camera or from computer
- Name of the video will be "Rotary is........."

Rotary gives US$35 million to end polio worldwide
Rotary announces $35 million in grants to support the global effort to end polio. In 2015, the world saw historic progress against the paralyzing disease, with just two countries - Afghanistan and Pakistan - reporting a single strain of the wild virus. If the current momentum is strengthened, this year may mark the last case of wild poliovirus.

The Rotary Leadership Institute Part 1 workshop "Me and Rotary" helps to strengthen your relationship to your club and the Rotary World. Participants will learn about the bigger picture of Rotary International. The session shares practical tips, ideas and resources from Rotary International that will assist all members in their current and in future Rotary roles.
This session is scheduled over two Wednesday evenings at 6pm-9pm.

A great time was had by all who were able to attend the District 5370 Spring Training Training in Edmonton on March 11-12.
Lynne Ternosky flew in from Stratford, Ontario, and presented Jim with the first ever Rotary E-Club President's bell and gavel!
Both are antiques and will reside with the President of the E-Club during his/her term.
It is a great way for any Rotarian to learn about Rotary, interact with other Rotarians and so much more!

Rashmani Chakrabarty, and Ross and Darlene Hallett were able to attend the Friday night banquet, and it was great to see them all.
Mitty Chang, who is the President Elect of the Rotary E-Club of Silicon Valley, gave the keynote Speech on "Membership in the 21st Century".
District Governor Elect Laura Morie unveiled the 2016-2017 Banner and Rotary Theme, which is "Rotary Serving Humanity"

The Governor's week:
I am a little late this week as the Curling in Vermilion was so much fun I did nothing but visit and curl all weekend. As good as that was the road home was not. We made it a two day journey when we couldn't see the road any more coming in to Grande Prairie. I realized again that the Fellowship of Rotary is amazing. Curlers always have a good time when they get together but when you add that Rotary component it just jumps another level. There are many fellowships in Rotary that allow us to pursue our passion while doing good in the world. If you are not already in a fellowship take the time to check them out and possibly join one. https://www.rotary.org/myrotary/en/rotary-fellowships
