Greeter this week: Bruce Kleeberger

Hello from the Nation's Capital! I'm a proud Rotarian, Canadian and Rotary E-Club of Canada One charter member. To celebrate Canada 150, my wife Silvia and I travelled the Canada Hwy 1 from the Pacific coast, where we live, to Ottawa. We took as many opportunities as possible to learn more about our country and its heritage. We have learned so much visiting communities and meeting fellow Canadians that we have confidence that our way of life can be an example to the world. Welcome to our weekly on-line meeting to Canadians and special welcome to visitors: Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike!

Inspirational Moment
How one woman built her own artificial pancreas and started a DIY movement

Dana Lewis has Type 1 diabetes, which means her pancreas doesn't work the way it should: It doesn't make the insulin she needs to survive.

So, she built a new one.

Comments from our Guests and Members
Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?

- Would have loved to attend Atlanta convention!
- Canadiana: Stratford; brought to mind that a lifetime won't be enough to visit all the beautiful places of Canada!
- Rotary Minute: wow, 1.2 bio $
- My Canada: moving word & music
- Inside Story of the Paris Climate Agreement: Agree that Impossible is an attitude, not a fact. I hope that Mr. Trump will watch this presentation by Ms Figueres!

Undine Miller, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Helpful for me to gain the background & context of this high impact global agreement. She's humble & wise about changing the tone of conversations about stewardship & the environment (vs. polarized arguments).
Velma Noble, RCCHP, D-5360, Calgary, Alberta

Christiana Figueres, Paris climate agreement
A potentially controversial subject was handled in perfect Rotary 4-Way fashion.
And yes, "impossible" is an attitude not a fact so it was great to take in this program knowing that "impossible" is not our Rotary dictionary!

John Wojcicki, Rotary Club of Edmonton, Alberta,  D-5370

Enjoyed the information --  The Sharing Circle.  A lot of factual information about aboriginal history that I was unaware of.
Good program!

Dolorosa Dollard, Rotary Club of Stephenville, Newfoundland, D-7820

I appreciated the clarification that genes do not control to the extent that the press often suggests.
Kim McLeland, Club Rotario Cuenca, Texas, D-4400

News from the Rotary Family
Did you know, that Anre McIntosh is our club's athlete; On July 23, she and her husband David participated in the half Marathon in Penticton.
Anre placed 3rd in her age group for the aqua bike race. Once you cross the bike line you are done, which allows you to recover and leisurely get your medal.
At the end of the day Elly and Ramiro met up with Anre at Ye Old Welcome Inn at Callagher Lake where Anre was camping.

Real Time Meetings
