Welcome to the Rotary E-club of Canada One. On October 5th, my wife and I drove to Edmonton, Alberta from Red Deer to attend the Motown Themed Banquet; part of the District 5370 Conference. This gave both of us, an opportunity to meet with other members of the e-club in the "fresh" for the first time. Fellowship remains a big part of being a Rotarian, networking and sharing ideas can be very rewarding especially in a friendly setting.
Having arrived at the Shaw Centre "fashionably late", Tammy and I were ushered to a table with some unfamiliar faces. Because we were among Rotarians and their spouses, introductions were made and conversations initialed quickly. One of my new friends was a founding member of the Yellowknife Classic Club in the NWT. He told me that at 80 years of age and now living in Hay River, NWT, he was proud to say that he still kept himself busy as Project Engineer Consultant. By the end of dinner, it was very clear that my new friend had a great passion for Rotary and was a big part of it's NWT history as a developing Engineer born in England and a Charter Member of the Yellowknife Rotary Club.
I strongly suggest that when the opportunity presents itself, get to a Rotary Meeting when traveling, plan to attend your next District Conference and support your Home Club. Please enjoy this week's e-meeting.

LEADERSHIP
The Board of Trustees manages the business of the Foundation, led by the trustee chair. The Rotary International president-elect nominates the trustees, who are elected by the RI Board of Directors. The trustee chair serves for one year and trustees serve for four years.

Whether it’s identifying a need in the community and leading a hands-on a service project or hosting a Rotary Youth Exchange student and learning about another culture, Connect for Good offers many opportunities to get involved in Rotary.

and using social media to reach out and start conversations.

Food for Thought
WHAT IF… you didn’t feel the need to be perfect?
Trying to be perfect is… well… it’s stressful! It can lead to paralysis, a fear of mistakes, missed deadlines, anxiety, and low self-confidence. But the truth is…you are not perfect! You are flawed. Everyone is flawed.
Perhaps we are all just a little goofy, eccentric, and imperfect for a reason. It’s our imperfections and mistakes that help us learn what we need to learn. When you see your life through the Big Picture lens, our daily flops can serve as an electric sander buffing out our rough edges.
TRY THIS: The only way not to become better and do better is to stop learning. Ask yourself, “What’s one thing I can do today to get a little bit better?” Progress is motivational protein. It gives you the strength to keep growing.

One of the many programs supported by the Rotary Foundation is the Ambassadorial Scholarship.
The video you are about to watch is a Skype interview between Martha Eisenhower, Kurt Mische and Carl Fuetsch of the Rotary Club of Reno, Nevada. Martha discusses her year in Ireland studying Conflict Resolution in addition to attending a UN World Health Organization meeting in Switzerland and their response to Rotary's Polio eradication program.
