Annual Shred It EventThank you to all the amazing Rotarians and volunteers that organized a successful Shred It Event. This is an annual event we host each year by donation to raise funds to support our community. |
Quaran-Team Family Car Rally ChallengeWe want to thank the entire community for all their support in helping to eradicate Polio. This event could not have been possible without Vik Gill of the Fitness Lab, Rotary Clubs of Mission and of course our generous prize sponsors Manny Deol, Lanka Jewels, Rick Toor, Tom Osterberg and Dr's Bill and Gloria Tyler. We had 32 cars rallied to raise $3500 over 2 days, this translates to $14,000 with matching subsidies. This event also gave families oppurtunities to explore Mission and check out all the wonderful things that make us love Mission. We look forward to this becoming an annual event each year. Thank you everyone! |

Rotarians of Mission Continue to be "PEOPLE OF ACTION" during these difficult timesRotary Clubs of Mission continue to serve our community while keeping within the restrictions and health recomendations at this time. We are here to serve and to help. Today we spent time at Emma's Acres preparing for this years crops. If there is anyone you know that made need assistance at this time please contact us. Rotary in Mission is available to help. Please reach out for any support you might need. It is a privilege to serve in our community. |
Rotary Meetings PostponedDear Fellow Rotarians, It is with deep regret that we must postpone all Rotary Meetings until further notice due to our world wide situation and with a direct order from our RI President Mark Maloney. All Rotary District Events have also been cancelled at this time. With that being said don't forget who we are WE ARE PEOPLE OF ACTION. There will be many needs in our community during this most stressful time. Please reach out to me if there is anyway that you know of that Rotary can step up and help those in need. We are still able bodies that are willing to work and support even though we can not meet. I have a contact number on our website and we will also post on Facebook for those who need us to contact me and we can set up groups to assist when possible. In the mean time the message I am giving you from your fearless leader is to not live in fear and continue to love and care for your community, your families and yourselves. Most importantly please reach out to each other for help and support at this time. Much love and hugs to all of you and I hope we can see each other sooner rather than later. I will update with any changes as they become available. In the meantime if you have any questions, concerns or ideas of how we can continue to serve please call anytime 604-316-7125. |
Rotary at Work DayThis was an extra special Rotray at Work Day as we had the privilage of working on one of our members home garden. Joe Loucks was promoted to glory on February 28th, 2020. Water Filters for FamiliesOn December 14th our very own Brad Reminek hosted a birthday fundraiser to raise funds for the installment of water filters in Peurto Vallarta for families in need. Guatemala Literacy Bus ProjectThe Rotary Club of Mission Midday has partnereed with the Rotary Club of Abbotsford to support the Guatemala Literacy Bus Operation with a contribution of $2,500. These funds will be used to support the operation of their bus, purchasing books, etc. Books are rare in many schools in Guatemala. This bus offers a mobile library to many villages and rural areas - children pour into the bus with great excitement and have about 45 minutes to read before the next group takes their place , and then the next. The bus then moves to a different location for the next group of children. This occurs 5 days a week, every week. This is an ongoing project that was initiated by the Rotray Club of Abbotsford in 2009. We are so privilaged to be a part of Rotray and be able to give the gift of books and reading to those who would not have the oppurtunity otherwise. |
