Installation of the 2026/27 Board — Meeting Recap, July 14
Our club opened its 114th year with the installation of the 2026/27 leadership team, with Past President Franz Gehriger serving as Installation Officer.
The meeting began with recognition of those completing their terms. Franco Gallo thanked outgoing President Joan Posivy for her leadership and accomplishments over the past year and presented her with a gift from the club. Thanks also went to outgoing Secretary Ally Potel, outgoing directors Stephanie Lawton, Sean Chan, and Richard Higgins, and outgoing Sergeant-at-Arms Mindy Tulsi-Ingram.
Franz then introduced the incoming team: new directors Olesia Kloster, Tamlyn Mafika, Ally Potel, and Mark Hirschi; continuing directors Malcolm Hunter and Nathan Hesketh; Treasurer Kaz Kadono; Sergeant-at-Arms Adriana Zylmans; and incoming Secretary Parastoo Farrokhyar.
The ceremony concluded with the secretary presentation, and President Navid Morawej, who committed to leading the club with a simple aim: leaving it a little stronger than he found it. With the formalities wrapped up early, the celebration carried on, members raised a glass of champagne to the new leadership team, mingled with family and visiting Rotary friends, and caught the second half of the World Cup quarter-final on the big screen. A fitting start to the year: good company, good spirits, and a big game.
