Oct. 21, 2026 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Have you ever seen painted wooden fish on park fences and wondered why? Twenty-six years ago, a pollution event in a Burnaby creek pushed an artist and local streamkeepers to team up on an idea: teach kids that every storm drain leads to fish habitat, then let them paint what they learn. That first mural sparked a movement β over 200,000 children across Canada have since taken part. Today the Society runs three programs: Fish on Fences, its flagship watershed art program; Street to Sea, which turns students into stewards of their own school communities; and free day camps offering environmental and cultural education for Indigenous children. Join Krystal Brennan, the Stream of Dreams Murals Society's Administrator since 2016, for the rest of the story. With a BSc in Ecological Restoration, she brings real stream-ecology knowledge to the Society's blend of environmental education and art. β Everyone is invited to attend (Rotarians, guests, friends, and community members). π From 4:30pm - 6pm.
