Madison College Scholarship Program

Each year, Madison South Rotary proudly awards scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing their education at Madison College. These scholarships are designed to support students who have demonstrated financial need and show great potential for success.

Selection Criteria

To be considered, students must:

  • Plan to attend Madison College

  • Have significant financial need

  • Be nominated by a teacher or school counselor

  • Preference is given to those who are first-generation college students

Additional consideration is given to each student’s GPA, extracurricular activities, and employment history.

Tom Lucas & Bill Thompson Academic Scholarships


Each year, Madison South Rotary proudly awards two $750 academic scholarships to Madison South Rotarian family members to honor longtime members Tom Lucas and Bill Thompson. These awards recognize outstanding students who not only excel academically but also demonstrate our club's commitment to the Rotary value: Service Above Self.


The Tom Lucas Memorial Scholarship
Tom Lucas was a devoted Rotarian and WWII veteran known for his deep admiration of Madison South Rotarians. His legacy of service and camaraderie lives on through this scholarship.


The Bill Thompson Memorial Scholarship
Bill Thompson was a respected and dedicated member of Madison South Rotary whose life was tragically cut short during a Rotary service trip in El Salvador. He is remembered for his kindness, leadership, and unwavering support of our club.
 

Selection Criteria

To be considered, students must:
  • Be a graduating high school senior or student entering their first year of college
  • Be a family member of a current Madison South Rotarian, including children, siblings, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or another family member as approved by our scholarship committee.
Additional consideration is given to each student’s GPA, community service, Madison South Rotary involvement, and extracurricular activities. Applicants may only receive this scholarship once.
