Peace Corp Experience - Kosovo
Oct. 26, 2026 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.

THOM WEISS - Peace Corp Experience in Kosovo

For nearly a decade, Thom put our core value of service into action by directing the Wisconsin chapter of Rotary Books for the World, a powerful non-profit that collects and ships used school and library books to developing countries. Over the years, his deep commitment to international service also shone through his family's hospitality, having hosted twelve Rotary Youth Exchange students. [1]
However, Thom’s journey of service took an extraordinary new turn when a presentation at a Rotary meeting inspired him and his wife, Brenda, to join the Peace Corps. He recently returned from serving in Kaçanik, Kosovo, as part of the historic cohort that returned to full global service following the pandemic. This day, Thom joins us to share firsthand stories, cultural insights, and the deep local relationships built while living and serving in one of Europe’s youngest nations.
