Today John Fassl, Director of the Dane County School Consortium and Annie Johnston, coordinator for work based learning at the Madison Metropolitan School District, stopped by to share an overview of the Youth Apprenticeship Program Areas by Pathway. The program is an industry driven, highly successful and nationally recognized talent acquisition strategy in which employers hire high school juniors and seniors for a one or two year apprenticeship. Students pair courses related to the profession to enhance on-the-job learning. John told us that there are 400 students in the program today and he is continually searching for new vocations to build out additional pathway opportunities for students.
