Rowan Childs, founder and executive director of the Madison Reading Project joined the club to share her passion for the Madison Reading Project.  Since 2014 the Madison Reading Project has been on a mission to connect the Madison community with free books and literacy resources that ignite a love for reading and affirm and reflect the diversity of young readers.  The program has grown so fast that in 2022 the Madison Reading Project will give away over 100,000 books to children in Dane County.  The Madison Reading Project has programs like the Big Red Reading bus that moves around and delivers thousands of books to children across Dane County, holiday giving of books through the empty stocking club, the local partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library as well as partnerships with local schools and their teachers.  If you missed it, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/eGnMaakLnu4
