Today we held the annual meeting of the Madison South Rotary Foundation (MSRF). The Foundation board reported out on the results from this past year and Joe Balles shared the annual report with the club. Ginny Olson shared the biographies of the three club members running for a seat on the board – Mike True, Rob Gooze and Mike Dillis. Mike Dillis pulled his nomination and will instead work on the Ad-Hoc committee “The Future of the Madison Rotary Foundation”. Congratulations to Mike True and Rob Gooze on their three year term on the MSRF board and thank you to Mike Dillis for his leadership on the future of our foundation. Also a big thank you to the two members whose terms on the board are up – Ginny Olson and Joe Balles – You’re leadership over the last three years on the board has been invaluable.
Randy Sproule presented the 13 high school senior’s who will receive a scholarship from MSRF this year. Common themes include overcoming significant obstacles in their lives and no expected financial support from their families. You may ask why 13 scholarships this year? In the past, some students may have elected not to go to Madison College and would forfeit their scholarships. That timing would make it too late to award the scholarship to another deserving student. So Randy is backing these extra scholarships personally if all 13 students go to Madison College. Thanks, Randy for your leadership and generosity. Due to privacy reasons, we are not able to share the video of Randy’s presentation.
