Freeport Rotary Club was established in 1919 to provide service to others and promote integrity through fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The Club participates in local services projects targeting youth literacy, scholarly recognition, student international exchange, and purchasing shoes for disadvantaged youth. As a Galena native, Matt attended Canyon Camp and earned his Eagle Scout when he was a youth in the program.  After earning his degree at Loras College in Dubuque, he started working for the BSA in Walworth and Jefferson Counties in Wisconsin.  For nearly the last two decades he has served northwest Illinois and southwest Wisconsin as the lead professional for the western portion of Blackhawk Area Council. He is proud to get kids involved in the program and enjoys finding ways to keep the community connected with the program for young boys and girls.
