One of the most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics in the world is the Rotary 4-Way Test.  It was created by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor in 1932 when he was asked to take charge of a company that was going bankrupt.  He created a 24 word code of ethics for all employees to follow in their professional and personal life:   Is it the Truth? Is it Fair to all Concerned? Will it Build Goodwill and Better Friendships? Will it be Beneficial to all Concerned?  Centered around the 4-Way Test is the annual International Rotary Student Speaker contest.  Beginning at the Club Level, Students compete to attempt to reach the District Level Competition and a chance to win a college Scholarship. This years Theme for 2015 / 2016 is Be a Gift to the World.   City of Industry Rotary Club will be holding our Club Level Competition on Tuesday, February 23rd at the pacific Palms from 12:10 to 1:30 pm.  Students from Wilson High School, Los Altos High School, La Puente High School, Nueva Vista High School, and Bassett High School will be competing.  GOOD LUCK TO ALL STUDENTS!  With all of that said, Congratulations to this years Industry Hills 4-Way Speech Contest winner:  JUAN MORALES from Los Altos High School.  All five of our speakers did a great job!  Juan will now be representing his school and out club at the Area 6 Level in March!

The Rotary Club of Industry Hills assembled 300 Thanksgiving baskets on November 22, 2014.

This was our 28th year Rotarians, Interact Club members, family, friends, Fire Department and Sheriff Department employees come together for our needy families in the community.

The Interact Club members students are from Bassett High School and Glen A. Wilson High School helped fill the baskets and deliver them.

300 families received a reusable laundry basket that included a canned ham, non perishables and can goods.

As quickly as baskets were filled, teams delivered the baskets to peoples homes with the Fire Department alone delivering 100 baskets with the help of their hook and ladder.  Rotarians and Interact Club members deliver 200 baskets.

The project's success is due to the substantial volunteer help as described above and the help and support of the Hacienda La Puente and Bassett Unified School Districts, the City of Industry, L.A. County Fire and Sheriff Departments, Supervisor Don Knabe and the many businesses that contributed food and supplies. Click on Thanksgiving to prior year picturesImage
