Rotary International held the 100th international convention in Montreal June 20 -23, 2010.. Over 18,000 Rotarians from across the world met to hear exciting and motivating speakers, enjoy special entertainment, renew acquaintances and meet new friends, and enjoy the City.
Rotarians attending the plenary sessions at the Centre Bell (home of the Montreal Canadians) heard several motivating speakers on a variety of service projects throughout out the World. Highlights included the favorable report on the progress of The Rotary Foundation's polio eradication efforts as well as Queen Noor of Jordan and her peace understanding efforts in the Middle East, Bob Mazucca (Chief Scout Executive of Boy Scouts of America) and Dolly Parton regarding her Imagination Library Literacy Program. The sessions also included special entertainment by Celtic Thunder, Dolly Parton and Cirque Du Soleil, which is headquartered in Montreal.
