Zoom Meeting: John Barrie, Mayan Power and Light

About John Barrie

I’m both a Rotarian and I have been supporting a Rotary Global Grant project in Guatemala that I’d like to speak about. The project is Mayan Power and Light (MPL), a sustainable community development project that teaches Mayan women about solar power and helps them start their own social venture businesses. The MPL pilot project in 2016 was recognized by the United Nations Compact for Sustainable Development as one of the top 100 sustainable enterprises world wide. A great accomplishment for Rotary! My talk will cover MPL, along with Rotaract, Interact and Rotarian involvement in the project. I have a short video and the rest of my talk is well suited to Zoom or other online platforms.
