Thursday is Thanksgiving Day!

As we gather with family and friends we give thanks for all the many blessings in our lives.

We can be thankful to be a part of Rotary International and all the good it does in the world.

Your Officers and Board of Directors are especially thankful for the wonderful support and fellowship of our Morning Star members.

Reminder, our next meeting is December 1st since we do not meet on Thanksgiving Day.

December 1^st is our next "First Thursday!"

It will be held at 5:30 at Artisan Wine & Cheese Cellars on W. Lehigh Street.

We hope to see more members and guests at our next First Thursdays on December 1.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Save the Date – Morning Star’s HOLIDAY PARTY will be held on Saturday, January 7^th at the home of our gracious hosts, Mike and Terry Long.

Bethlehem Emergency Shelter

Morning Star Rotary will be serving dinner at the Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering Program again this winter. We have signed up for 4 Thursday nights over the course of the winter. Each night there will be a team captain that will coordinate menu, volunteers, cooking, cleanup etc. These are the following dates & captains:

December 15 - Janet Kolepp
January 12 - Jan Chicka
February 23 - Sue Reeps
March 16 - John Oesmann

A big thank you to those that volunteered as team captain. Please add these dates to your calendar!!!

Morning Star Elections 12-15-16

Morning Star elections will be held in December 15 for 2017-18 Rotary year, which starts July 1.

The club needs 4 Directors to serve for 2 years (July 2017 – June 2019). Responsibilities include monthly board meetings, regular attendance at weekly club meetings, act as liaison for some committees, and involvement in committees, fundraisers and social events. Board meetings are typically held at Moravian Village on the 2^nd Wed. of each month starting at 6 PM, and generally run 1.5 to 2 hours.

The VP position actually involves a four-year board commitment: the 2016-17 VP becomes Pres. Elect (2017-18), President (2018-19) and finally Past President (2020-21). Candidates should be willing to attend appropriate Rotary training.

We have some “newer” members who have stepped up on the board with fresh ideas as well as some “veteran” members to help us keep perspective.

If you are interested in serving, please contact me or President Sharon. We still need a Director and a Vice President.

Depending on the response, we may be contacting you to “volunteer” (aka be drafted).

Viewing Weekly e-Bulletins SmartPhones & Tablets

Some of us have wondered why we see only part of e-Bulletins we try to view in our smart phones or tablets.

In most cases this is because your phone or tablet's email client only downloads part of the code in the message --

giving you enough to see if you want to continue downloading the whole message (if it's something you want to read) -- or discarding it (if you don't).

Here's how to ensure you can see the entire e-Bulletin:

1. Scroll down to the very bottom of the email where you should find a link from your email client asking if you want to download the whole message. Click that link and the entire e-Bulletin should download to your phone.

2. If your email client doesn't cooperate -- and sometimes it doesn't, there is a link at the top of every e-Bulletin, that says "Having troubles viewing this email?" If you click there, it will open the internet browser in your phone or tablet and take you to the bulletin.

If you haven't logged in recently (or maybe ever?), here are step-by-step instructions ...

1. Go to www.morningstarrotary.org

2. Click Member Login (at top right)

3. If you don't know your Login Name or Password, click "New and existing users - Retrieve your password"

4. Fill in your last name and email address. ClubRunner will immediately email your Login Name and Password.

5. Note: the email address must match what ClubRunner has on file for you. If you can no longer access that email address, contact Jean Searfoss, Jeff Kicska or Ron Searfoss with your new address, and we will update it in ClubRunner for you.

After logging in, click on "Member Area" at the top right. Then look under "My ClubRunner" on the left side for a wide variety of club documents and information. Several Directory formats are available to print and/or download. To download member info in Word or pdf, the recommended line to click is eDirectory Report 2.0.
