After serving 10 years in the United States Air Force and earning an engineering degree, Matt Altier was hired by Pacific Architects and Engineers, Inc. to oversee a large multi-operational contract managing two air bases in Spain.  In that capacity he oversaw the entire (dual language) operation of the two NATO bases on the islands of Mallorca and Menorca in the Mediterranean.  When that contract ended, Matt turned his sights and career towards higher education.  Over the last 25 years Matt has served as the Chief Executive Officer for four 501c3 educational and auxiliary non-profit Foundations and has held executive and Cabinet level positions as Vice President, Vice Chancellor and Chief Business Officer for six different colleges and universities across the United States. 

Most recently Matt served as the Vice President for Business Development for the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans before transferring to the role of President and CEO of the LSU Health Foundation, New Orleans four years ago.

Due to his operational, finance, fund raising and extremely unique experience in putting together public/private partnerships and property development projects, Matt has spearheaded projects worth more than 250 million dollars at the LSU Health campus and has increased the Foundation’s total assets by 75% in just 48 months.  Matt has been called upon to serve in advising rolls for cities, communities and many colleges and universities in the United States, Europe, Canada, and the Middle East throughout his career.
