Dear fellow Rotarians,
I have some wonderful news! Our recent survey shows that the majority of our membership is more than ready to meet again! We have an exciting potential collaboration with the New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute (NOCHI). I'm hoping that we will be ready to meet again in-person with Zoom hybrid support on Wednesday, May 5. I will keep you all updated.
Remember, the following Wednesday, May 12th is the date set for our Annual Rotary Club of New Orleans Scholarship Award Presentations at the Cannery. Please mark your calendars.
For both of these events protocols would be the same as for any other restaurant in New Orleans i.e., masks will be worn when not eating or drinking, no buffet (everything will be served by waitstaff), group size will be limited as required by law, and all individuals will be careful and thoughtfully mindful of the inherent risks involved. All are welcome!
Finally, President-elect Penny Menge and I have been speaking and we feel that it is time now to renew our normal dues structure. Accordingly, I proposed to the Board that dues return to normal on April 1, the beginning of our Fourth Quarter. After discussion the Board agreed unanimously to begin regular dues again, as of April 1, to begin to replenish our diminished accounts.
Because we recognize that it may seem that this is rather sudden, the Board has agreed, also unanimously, to extend the April 1 billing period for 30 days so the dues invoices and automatic credit card payments will be processed on May 1st. The following Quarter's dues will once again be due, as usual, upon receipt.
These have been challenging days for our Club and I am so proud of everything we have achieved! Thank you all so much!
