I’m pleased to report that both leaders of our new South Omaha Initiative are now official members of our club! Welcome Cesar Garcia (who will speak to the club on March 31st) and Jorge Sortolongo. This dynamic duo is planning a formation meeting at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Q2 2021. Many new friends are anticipated to join us, as well as a great contingent from Downtown Rotary to welcome potential new members.
Rotarian Lori Bechtold will join us on March 31st as well to answer your questions regarding the joint Rotary Project – Kids Against Hunger! We are going to pack 30,000 meals for the Food Bank of the Heartland on May 8, 2021 at The Family Room Church, 8333 Fort St. alongside Rotarians from Suburban and West Omaha. It promises to be an exciting service effort and a lot of fun!
Press reports indicate that COVID-19 vaccines may be available soon to the 50 – 64 year-old age cohorts in Douglas County. The rollout of this phase will assist us in getting back together in person. Stay tuned.
