Our Honor Roll program has been honoring 8th graders since the program was started by club President Louis Hiller in 1927.   Over the last 94 years, we have recognized over 18,000 eighth graders who have been selected by their schools on the basis of Scholarship, Character, Presence, and Integrity.  This year’s event will be honoring 414 eighth graders representing 58 schools from across Douglas County.  We also provide six scholarships to seniors who were honored as eighth-grade Honor Roll students.

Because of COVID, our event will be fully virtual this year, starting at 12:00PM on Wednesday, May 12th.  You can attend the event by using this Zoom link:  https://zoom.us/j/99895696759?pwd=T2pKdTJLcUxsYkFKaWVBU25adFFtdz09, Passcode: 924122.   During the event we’ll be highlighting:

·         Two eighth-graders speaking to represent the 2021 Honor Roll class

·         Our six scholarship winners.   One, Daisy Freidman, will be our scholarship speaker.  Daisy is an amazing young woman—here’s a story about her—and we’re looking forward to hearing her speak.

·         Thanks to an anonymous donor, we’ll be giving away 10 iPads during the event.  We’ve had them delivered to the schools along with the student's certificates and programs, so as we announce them the students will be doubly surprised!

·         Our keynote this year is Gary Bren, who was the keynote in 2017.
