MEETING UPDATE

Get Details and Register HERE.
President's Pen
I am pleased to report that this morning, your Downtown Rotary board of directors approved member Gary Bren’s plan to move ahead with an Honor Roll project in 2021 – representing 93 years of continuous service to the young men and women of Omaha by our club!

The board committed to support the effort with $5,000 in funds from our Service Fund and the unanimous support of the board. Gary and his team, which includes current board member Viv Ewing and past treasurer Jim Stewart among others, will be expediting and sharing their plans with the club in the coming weeks, and seeking your support.

I know that Gary, who is also a past-president of the club, current District Treasurer and current Omaha Downtown Rotary Foundation president, has looked to the Four-Way Test to guide his decision-making, and his commitment to Honor Roll comes with personal sacrifice. I know you will rally to the cause. Gary has agreed to lead a “pivot to the future” effort this year, and we will be seeking to confirm future leadership in the coming months and confirm our direction for 2021-2022 by June 30, 2021 to provide a clear path for the next fiscal year.

We’ll continue our practice of meeting at least once per month in hybrid fashion as we minimize our risk during the pandemic. This coming week, we’ll welcome the AIM Institute’s Tony Veland in a ZOOM ONLY format. See you then!

Send Happy Notes to residents at the Salvation Army’s Durham Booth Manor. This is a project that can be done at any time.

Just cheery notes to brighten someone’s day.
