Greetings Everyone,

It is great to be a part of this Awesome Rotary club!  We had several great costumes this week, very notably Leigh in a great Native American wardrobe and a very convincing record producer getup sported by our own Todd Murphy.  Nice work everyone. 

We got to greet and get an update from our two Rotary exchange students and their exciting adventures of going to school here in America. 

We heard a very appreciative thank you from the Boy Scouts for the donation from the Foundation and the work for the veterans they have been able to accomplish with the funding. 

Thank you Okley for a great tribute to the American flag and what it stands for. 

Thanks to Spencer for setting up our second "vocational moment" by Adam Leong who gave a spirited 2-Minute synopsis of his work as Regional Coordinator for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.  He made his presentation with 4 seconds to spare.  Nice Job Adam!
 

Rounding out our "Election Month" Don Bacon gave a good snapshot of the successes and continued challenges we face as a nation as he runs for re-election to Congress.  He said the numbers show our economy is the best it has been in 5 decades and we have unemployment at one of the lowest levels in history.  Certainly lots to be thankful for, but also many challenges to face.  He cited the military and the improvements needed to bring our equipment maintenance up to date.  He touched on health care, the opioid crisis and the war on human trafficking as areas for renewed efforts and a call for nonpartisan unified effort to solve the issues.   Thank you Don for your service and the update on your campaign.
