Greetings Everyone,       

Some great news shared today from LeRoy on the success of our clubs Operation Hippocrates trip to Belize and the lives touched there.  Also John Mock giving a snapshot of our clubs latest service project helping feed and clothe some of the unfortunate homeless people struggling through the night on the streets of Omaha in this week's frigid temperatures.  Thank you to all who served this week in making our world a better place and to Taylor and Corey and the crew for finding this great project.  These are examples of where our own club's Service Fund is used to serve those in need.  If you have not had a chance to contribute to our Service Fund this year please consider doing so.  We ask every member to please try to give at least $100 each year to support the work we do and we are behind previous years giving levels to be able to meet the service projects we have set out to do.
 

Great information from Brooke Bench from the Omaha Parks and Recreation Department on all the beautiful park spaces and the amazing amount of different activities they make available in our city.  They are responsible for a $33 million budget and have over 1000 workers in peak season taking care of all facets of our park spaces.  He touched on the community centers, nature centers, golf courses, ball parks, soccer fields, Trap and Skeet range, swimming pools, spray parks, lakes, dam sites, miles of trails, dog parks, tree removals and tree planting.  It is staggering the range of activities needed to keep our parks running and adding so much to our city.  Thank you for the work they do and to Cella for another great program.
