Once again, we had the tremendous opportunity to hear from 2 great Woodridge students. Both James and Claire are outstanding students not only in the classroom but also in their outside interests. We also learned that Claire may be in a class all her own having been a Rotary student of the month when she was in 8th grade as well as this time as a senior. James took this as a challenge to follow in her footsteps when he is a senior.
For those that may have missed it: Beginning in June we will only have 2 lunch meetings each month for June, July, and August. These will be the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month (skipping July 2nd when we will not be meeting in honor of the Semiquincentennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence). The 2nd Thursday of the month there will be a service opportunity, and the final Thursday of the month will be a social. These events will be planned closer to the summer months. As you can see, the board and I believe there is value in gathering weekly, but this doesn’t have to be at a lunch meeting. The website calendar has been updated to reflect this schedule.
