PDG James JamBoy Boyer

James Boyer, a resident of Old Tappan, has been a member of the Northern Valley Rotary Club since 2007. He served as club president from 2009-2011, receiving a Presidential Citation for both terms and created the club's first website and redesigned its banner. In 2011 , Jim became an Assistant Governor and has served many clubs in the District. Jim is a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute and was selected as an inaugural member of the Future Leaders class at the Rotary Zone 24-32 Conference in Vancouver, Canada (2012). Jim was named Sergeant-at- Arms for the 2013 District 7 490 Conference, served as the District's Chief of Staff 2013-14 and District Secretary 2015-16, Jim also played an integral role in the foundation and development of the Rotary Club of Greater Westwood.

Jim remains an active leader in the District's Youth Services programs, with a focus on engaging the special needs community. In 2012, Jim helped start the first special needs Interact Club in the United States. He currently serves on the District 7490 Special Needs Committee and was the District Chair of Youth Services under DG Calisto Bertin (2014-2015). Among Jim's many Rotary honors, he is a four-time Paul Harris Fellow (2010/2012/2014/2017), and was awarded the District 7 490 Walter D. Head Fellow in 2010. He was also a Trustee for the District 7490 Walter D. Head Foundation (2011-2013) and served on the Extension and Membership Committees.

Jim attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied music production and engineering. He also attended law school in New York, concentrating on family and entertainment law, and received his certification In mediation. Jim was the audio engineer, guitar technician, and programmer for a Grammy Award-winning guitarist and collaborated with an Emmy-winning sound editor to provide audio post production for film, video and television in Hollywood. He worked in the royalty department at EMI Records Group North America and the business affairs departments of Capitol and Angel Records. Jim is currently President of JamBoy Music, where he writes and produces music and runs events.

A true Rotarian, Jim's dedication to community service extends beyond Rotary.

He was the chief development officer of a large nonprofit and ran a family mediation practice. He served many years on the Board for the Bergen Center for Child Development and serves on the Care Plus NJ Board and Chair of ll10 Care Plus Foundation. In 2012, the New Jersey State Legislation recognized Jim with a ceremonial resolution for his Community Service and Leadership.
