Governor Jim had the wonderful theme of "Review and Renew" of International President, James Conway, who was from Connecticut, USA at the time and later from Sun City, Arizona. Governor Jim's home club of Hackensack celebrated their Golden Jubilee, along with the Bayonne Club. Both have been chartered in 1920.
Governor Jim had as his Chief staff members, AIf Lockwood as his Chief of staff, Joe Cooper as his Secretary, John Hartman as his Treasurer, and Henry Holman as his Chief Governor's aide.

The Rotary International Convention was held in Atlanta, Georgia that year, and the District Conference at the Tamiment Hotel in the Poconos in Pennsylvania.

There was a District picnic and the President's Ball was held at the Westmont Country Club in West Paterson. The annual District Football game was at West Point and was a game between Army and the Air Force Academy, and the annual New York Vocational Assembly was held at the Waldorf Astoria.

The fIrst part of a two-year Group Study Exchange sending and receiving program at that time, was held with District #278 from Australia. Angie Morando served as the team leader that went to Australia the following year, and assisted in the receiving of the Australian team this year. Governor Jim's home club of Hackensack played a big part in the hosting of the team from Australia.

The Walter Head Foundation had been established a few years earlier and had become an active part of the program of the District for the year. Other active programs were the Youth Exchange and Interact programs.

Governor Jim completed his Rotary service as an active Rotarian in the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
