Our January 8th District staff meeting will be on January 8th at 6:30pm at The Brownstone January is Human Trafficking and Slavery Awareness Month. Please register for this important meeting as we learn more about human trafficking. The attached flyer gives the details on the Human Trafficking Flag raising on January 11th in Jersey City where our District is a sponsor.
Our Rotarians Combating Human Trafficking And Slavery (RCHTAS) committee has organized a presentation for our district meeting (January 8) to address the topic of Human Trafficking. There will be two speakers, Gina Cavallo and Patti Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer will start the presentation with Human Trafficking 101 and Ms. Cavallo will follow by sharing her work as an advocate for survivors/victims of human trafficking.
Gina Cavallo, is a leader, speaker and consultant in the anti-trafficking movement and a passionate advocate for victims and survivors of human trafficking. She is the founder and executive director of the survivor-led nonprofit, We RISE USA, and currently serves as Survivor Consultant & Board Vice-President for the NJ coalition Against Human Trafficking (NJCAHT), Co-Chair on the Anti-Trafficking task force of the NJ Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (NJAAP), and is an appointed member of the New Jersey Commission on Human Trafficking.
Patti Pfeiffer, NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking will present Human Trafficking 101: This presentation covers a range of topics pertaining to Human Trafficking, such as understanding coercive control, red flags/identification, prevention, internet safety, and what we can all do.
