ANNOUNCEMENTS

Luna Vista received letters of thanks and appreciation from UCP of Northern California and Community Care Care for our generous donations.

Brian and Tom to have a meeting with the school district's Maintenance and Operation department  this week concerning our tree planting at Pioneer High School.  We should get the trees planted by the end of May.  Plan is to use an auger to break up the soil and return the following week to plant the trees.  City of Woodland is supplying trees, poles and mulch for 35 to 50 trees.  Luna Vista will be responsible for watering the trees this summer.  Brian will head up the watering schedule and will need all of our help.

June 12 the fun committee is planing an anniversary party to celebrate Luna Vista's 12th year. We will not be having a formal dinner but "finger food", bar with special drinks and dessert. Come and celebrate all that is Luna Vista.

President Tom's demotion dinner will be June 19th, which will include pot luck and of course the Luna Vista "prime time players".  Come and give our fearless leader a grand send off!

PROGRAM

Yolo County Sheriff Ed Prieto was here to give us a quick talk on the Active Shooter Process.  He also gave us an entertaining account of his days in law enforcement.  He spent 23 years in the Highway Patrol as a motorcycle cop then lieutenant in the CHP and has been our Sheriff of Yolo county since 1998.
The Sheriff's department in conjunction with other members of the Yolo county's police officers have drills on the active shooter scenario.  The officer always has the responsibility to "take down the shooter".
