Woodland Real Estate doing better
We had a large (25+) group in attendance on a rainy night with visiting Rotarians from Woodland and Davis Sunrise joining us. President Cass got Deputy Doug to work right away for HD and Doug made sure there was some dollars for Cass's picture/story in last week's paper. Also, several members brought up Las Vegas stories, but I did not see many dollars as a result. Cass highlighted several items of interest including that LV will help with the Rotary speech contest this year (thanks Lonnie!). Please check the web site for other upcoming events (including the Tanzania container loading next Friday). Don Sharp gave our program on Woodland and Davis real estate and in Woodland there has started to shows signs of recovery, although median prices are down about 40%. Don talked about changes in the Real Estate business in the last 30 years. For example they use to list and purchase homes with about 2-3 pieces of paper. Now a days it needs 150-200 pages not including inspection reports. He discussed how technology has changed the way their business works (less newspaper advertising, more Internet) and showed a new iPhone app that let's you locate houses for sale within a 20 mile radius of you location.. Thanks Don for a great program. See you next week!
