Luna Vista goes to the dogs as we get a visit from a couple of very special friends - long with their human counterparts

Poor President Vinnie - he never had a chance.  As soon as Vinnie met Doogie & Token, he lost all control.  Luna Vista was invaded by dogs from Rotts of Friends to show the work they do as a rescue organization as well as a boarding & training facility.  The meeting got off to a normal start as we celebrated the upcoming Kentucky Derby with Mint Juleps and jockey equipment.  We had several visitors from Gaye Nakken of the Woodland Food Closet along with Eddi Quiggle and Polly Nelson joining their spouses at the meeting.  Last Saturday was Rotary Work Day and our group took care of business by refurbishing equipment at the SADVC facility.  Happy Dollars featured several items about the Art Auction for Dingle School, a Coffee cup for Bert, good news on the Pole project costing us less and the end of citrus season for the Woodland Harvest group who did over 30,000 lbs. this season - good job!!  Our program was done by Renee Lanchester from Rotts of Friends who brought along a minor celebrity named Doogie who is a Mastiff who was left for dead and they have brought back to life.  He could easily be adopted by many LV members.  Additionally, we had Token who is a poodle mix that found a specific friend during the presentation.  Renee discussed the history of their organization (started in 1986) and how they have placed over 375 dogs in the last two years.  They have a fund raiser coming up on June 22 called Mutts & Martinis out at their facility outside of Woodland.
