President Vinnie welcomes us to an "extra" open meeting with DGE Steve Lack in attendance
With our usual wall pulled back for a larger set up, we filled the room for our usual Thursday night fun.  We had several visitors including our friend Petwa Pekka and Steve Lack our 5160 District Governor Elect.  Happy Dollars included stories about Susan's 45th High School Reunion, Cass (& Craig) trip to Project Amigo and Dr Dexter's exceptional work for the village.  Doug's phone not only went off (a non-no) he answered! Ouch!  Lot's of dollars for the Giants and for the School District getting grant monies for yard duties & coaches stipends.  Ruth also rang the bell with $100 to TRF.  It was also announced that there are still 8 Harvest Baskets from Oktoberfest available for $75 each.  President Vinnie read a nice note from Gaye Nakken (who did a program for the Woodland Food Closet) thanking us for the opportunity to speak to us.  District Governor Elect Steve Lack from Pleasanton spoke about the upcoming District Conference in Napa (November 2 - 4) and especially the hospitality night on Friday night (maybe a return of the Luna Saloon?).  Our program was by Pete Martinez who is the executive director of the Cache Creek Lodge.  This facility has been helping addicts come from out of prison and get back into society in Yolo County since 1974.  They house around 39 guests (mostly male) year round most from referrals from the CDCR.  They operate on a contract from the DoC but still need private donations from citizens for things like clothes as most residents do not have much coming out of prison.  Another big need they have is for Board members (2-3).  Thanks for an interesting program.

Go Giants!
