At the last meeting of the Hempstead/Uniondale Rotary Club, there was a unaminous decision to make donations to two of our local food pantries that have been distributing food to those residents in need from both the Hempstead and Uniondale communities during these terrible virus stricken times. The two food pantries are the Hempstead Salvation Army on Atlantic Avenue in Hempstead and the Lutheran Family Services on Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale. Our club members felt that these two food pantries have been doing a tremendous job attending to the needs of their respective communities.
The members of the Hempstead/Uniondale Rotary Club have all sharpened their computer skills and have been conducting their club meetings using ZOOM. This style of meeting has given the members of our club the opportunity to now get a look at the faces of their fellow rotarians, something they have not done in a long, long time. A great big special to Club President Janet Ojo, Club Secretary Diane Deans and our own ADG Bev James for using this technology to keep our club together during these tough times. Remember everyone - Stay Safe!
