Each year the Cambridge Area Rotary holds a Ski, Ride & Winter Sports Sale to help raise money for a WINTER WELLNESS program. This program provides the financial support to send all of the 4th, 5th and 6th grade students at the Cambridge Elementary school to Smugglers Notch Resort to partake in outdoor activities such as skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. We cover the cost of transportation, lift tickets, lessons and equipment rentals. The sale also helps to provide access to reasonably priced winter sports equipment so that individuals and families can enjoy being outside and experience the wonders of a Vermont winter. All of the Rotarians, teachers and students thank you for supporting our event!
The Cambridge Area Rotary is hosting a FUNdraiser event to support club activities. Please join us for a night filled with BUNCO, Silent Auction, Prizes, Raffles. There will be snacks and a cash bar for beer and wine at the event. Tickets are $15 and are available at Jack F. Corse Inc., Cambridge Village Market, The Union Bank, Anita Lotto or any Cambridge Area Rotarian.
Bunco (also spelled bunko or bonko) is a dice game generally played with twelve or more players, divided into groups of four, trying to score points while taking turns rolling three dice in a series of six rounds. A bunco is achieved when a person rolls three-of-a-kind and all three numbers match the round number.
Cambridge Area Rotary is sponsoring a student to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA). This conference will focus on developing leadership skills, communication abilities and team-building tools. Join students from VT, NH, and Quebec to share, evolve and learn to be a more effective and selfconfident leader in your school, on teams, and in your community. You can expect to learn by experience and actions, learn about personality traits and how to bring out everyone's talents, learn about your own traits and talents, and have FUN!
This year the Cambridge Area Rotary Club raised and distributed funds to aid victims of our July flooding. We want to thank the efforts of the Lamoille Union Girls Soccer program, who dedicated their annual fundraising efforts to our cause.
From the program:
We are the Lamoille Union High School girls soccer program, and every year we fundraise using Vermont Cookie Love. This year, we have decided to donate a portion of our fundraising money back to the community. We are aware of the impact that the floods have had locally and wanted to pick an organization that was providing relief to flood victims. Our program collectively chose to donate $500 to the Cambridge Rotary (with a $500 company match) for a total of $1000, because we know it is a driven and valued organization. We appreciate your commitment to the community and are excited to see the impact of our donation.
