RC Liberty Endowment Fund:

Thanks to the Frevert Family Trust our club now has an ‘endowment’ of $1,103,098.00 to fund our annual scholarships.   The Board has been discussing the proper handling and investment of the endowment.  To further investigate options Club Officers and Directors will be meeting with Premier Network, a Liberty firm, on September 2nd at 2pm.   Rotary Club of Liberty MO Foundation previously held funds at Ed Jones but now that we have “real” money so to speak it was felt that a review of investment options was appropriate.

Increase Adult Literacy: Support programs targeting the millions of adults worldwide lacking basic reading and writing skills.

Support Children's Education: Improve school attendance and reduce the number of children missing out on primary education.

Reduce Gender Disparity: Close the education gap for marginalized groups, particularly young girls and women.

It is too early to make arrangements to attend  the Rotary International Convention in Barcelona, Spain, next June.   The RI Convention was to be in Dubai  next year but the location had to be changed and Barcelona will not be ready to start registrations until September 17th.

September Message from the District Governor

In June, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Rotary International Convention in Taipei, Taiwan. Of course, the convention itself was filled with image inspiring speakers, ideas, and Rotary connections from around the world—but the experience was so much bigger than the convention hall. I explored Taipei, visited Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen, wandered through night markets with Rotary friends, attended a performance at the National Concert Hall, and spent time with Rotarians I might otherwise only see on a Zoom screen or at an occasional Rotary event. There is something pretty amazing about being surrounded by thousands of people from around the world who share this thing we call Rotary.

And now we get to do it again! The 2027 Rotary International Convention will be in Barcelona, Spain, and I hope District 6040 will be well represented. An International Convention is part Rotary, part travel adventure, and a whole lot of connection. If you've never attended one, Barcelona might be the perfect year to experience it. Start thinking about it now—June 2027 will be here before we know it!

The best price for the 2027 convention in Barcelona will be for people who register between September 17 and September 21. Please include that information with the link
