* Add June 29th to your calendar! It will be our "5th Wednesday" social and officer installation and will be held at Rotary Plaza starting at 5:30pm. Planning is still underway for the event but food and beverage will be provided.
Each year the Scholarship Committee of the Liberty Rotary Club is tasked with finding students in Liberty Public Schools who exemplify Rotary ideals. Through essays and interviews, the committee looks for students who are committed to serving others, promote integrity, and are leaders in their school and community. The Liberty Rotary Club’s largest event, the Butt Buster Barbecue, funds the clubs investment in local youth. This includes the $22,500 that is awarded to three top Liberty School District Seniors.
Do you have a hobby or passion you would like to explore with friends from around the world? Do you want to build community around your profession or cultural identity globally? Committee members reviewed this year's event and set the date for next year........May 10th, 2023 ! Committee discussed changes for next year: the three types of orders will be eat-in, carry-out, and delivery: deliveries will be bulk orders only; prep time for deliveries will start earlier in day so all will be completed by 11am when serving at plaza starts; will do all bag prep(loading silverware/chips/sides) on Tuesday night; discussed plans to increase sponsor opportunities; reviewed ticketing options. The next planning session will on 10/12/22.
Rotary Plaza will be a host venue for Make Music Liberty again this year on June 21st from 10am until 8pm. Make Music Liberty is a live, free musical celebration on Tuesday, June 21st. (The longest day of the year), with concerts in parks, retailers & streets across Liberty, MO.
We are still finalizing performers for Rotary Plaza so stay tuned for updates. We will need 1 or 2 Rotarians to be "hosts" during the day to make sure everyone has a good time. Not very taxing and a lot of fun. Volunteer lists will be coming out soon.
Did you know the club has a YouTube channel??? The original channel was created in 2013 and has several videos posted. Unfortunately we lost the ownership information for the channel so a new channel has been created named "Rotary Club of Liberty." All of the old videos can be viewed on the new channel and now we can add more! Reed is assisting in maintaining the Club's channel so contact him if you have questions or want to help.
FYI-in order to set up the channel the club had to create a google account so we also have an email address, RotaryClubLiberty@gmail.com, that is not being used at this time.
