12th Annual Butt Buster BBQ
May 12-13th, 2026

We delayed the Rotarianette this week so we could include all the news about our 12th Annual Butt Buster BBQ straight from our planning meeting yesterday!

BIG News: Jodi had to step back due to her District Governor duties so we are bringing back Mr Chief Butt…….Mario Usera to lead this year's team!  Mario announced yesterday that he is ‘Raising the Bar’ and wants a total this year of …..$30,000!

Updated Sponsorships:  In order to reach our goal we adjusted our sponsorship levels:  Blue Ribbon $2,000, Prime $1,000, and Choice $500.  With just a couple of weeks of work we have achieved a total of $9,750 toward our goal.  Mario would like to see $22,500 in sponsorships and now that our ‘sponsor hunt’ is officially underway with the entire club working, we can see how high we can get!  Sponsor forms can be downloaded from this link:  2026 Sponsor Form      Would you like a sample letter you can edit and send to potential sponsors:  Sample Sponsor Letter

Updated  Ticket Prices:  We also adjusted the price of a meal to $15 and the price of a pound to $35.     Mario's goal for sales is $12,500.  Tickets will go on sale the end of  March.

BB BBQ Team for this year's event:   Chief Butt-Mario Usera,  Financial Czar-David Evans, Delivery Wizard-Ethan Stark,  Sponsor Cheerleader-Jodi Sudaram,  Cooking Team leader-Mark Bertrand,  Kitchen Crew Leader-Ann Waterman,  Rotary Plaza Coordinator-Pat Knauss, Marketing-NEED HELP.  As we get closer to the event there will be a volunteer list where you can sign up to be: cook, kitchen staff, cashier, prep worker, setup crew, cleanup crew, overnight staff, delivery driver, server.  This is a ‘all hands on deck’ event so pick your category, there is something for everyone!

Next week's meeting will continue to be a Vocational Services Inc (VSI) as they are still working on the Treehouse.  Thank you for the your service in the community, see you next week!

A Message from the District Governor

Happy New Year, Rotarians of District 6040!
As we step into 2026 together, I’m inspired by the momentum we’ve built and the service you’ve shown throughout the first six months of our Rotary year. Our theme this year — Unite for Good: Growing Stronger, Leading Together — reminds us that our collective efforts deepen our impact, strengthen our communities, and expand Rotary’s reach across northern Missouri and beyond.

Over the past several months, I’ve had the privilege of visiting many of our 51 clubs — each unique in their character and service projects but united by a shared passion for fellowship, leadership, and meaningful community impact. Let’s carry that unity forward into this new calendar year!

Here’s to another month — and year — of service, connection, and leadership!

— In Rotary Service,
Jodi Sundaram, District Governor 2025–26
