Rotary Friends,

Our speaker this week is Judy Sherry with ‘Grandparents for Gun Safety’ to talk to us about one of their programs called Lock it for Love.    Lock It For Love (LIFL) is the Grandparents for Gun Safety signature program. Since 2017, GGS has distributed thousands of free high-quality locks to adults who say they could use a gun lock and GGS provided safe firearm storage educational materials at events throughout the Kansas City metro.

Our ‘Super Shoppers’ have been hard at work this week as we continue to focus on collecting SHOES!   You will probably need to be sitting down when they announce the new “total” number of shoes this week.    Mitch, our Shoe Cheerleader, promised another gift for this week…..so bring SHOES or Donations!

Yours in Rotary Service,

March:  March is designated as Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Month in the Rotary calendar. During this month, Rotary clubs worldwide focus on raising awareness and funding sustainable projects that provide access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene education to communities

Shoes for Orphan Souls:  We are well on our way to reaching our 2,500 Shoe goal……Let's keep the pressure on thru March!

District Grant Project:   Our District Grant this year is to add Rotary branding information to Rotary Plaza in order to answer the #1 question we get from visitors---What is Rotary all about?  We will be adding signage(4 way test) along with a Peace Pole, a dog waste station, and a little free library.  All of the new additions represent important Rotary themes. We are developing signage to go with each item and if you are interested in helping with signage, contact Pat Knauss, Service Chair:  patknauss.rotary@gmail.com

Supporting the Environment:

The “Dog Station” is here! Keep your eyes out for a workday to install the station.

  • Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention:

  • Our “Peace Pole” is ordered!  Now we have two needs:  someone to remove the tree where we are going to install the Pole, and someone to design the area around the base.

Education & Literacy:

The red phone booth is now Dr Who's Tardis!
