The 2018 Rotary Auction Plans are in full swing!
Recently several members of the Rotary Club of Fort Nelson attended the annual Rotary District Convention in Westlock, Alberta. Among the speaker was the new incoming District Governor, Frank Reitz who hails from Fort McMurray. He recited a poem that resonated with the attendees.
It Isn't the Town, It's You

IF YOU WANT to live in the kind of a town
That's the kind of a town you like,
You needn't slip your clothes in a grip
And start on a long, long hike.You'll find elsewhere what you left behind,
For there's nothing that's really new.
It's a knock at yourself when you knock your town;
It isn't your town — it's you.
Real towns are not made by men afraid
Lest somebody else gets ahead.
When everybody works and nobody shirks
You can raise a town from the dead. And if while you make your stake
Your neighbor can make one, too,
Your town will be what you want to see,
It isn't your town — it's you.

Have you ever wondered what the Rotary Club of Fort Nelson has done for the community?
The trees on the Boulevard were planted by the Rotary Club of Fort Nelson! It just might be bare without those trees!
The water park at Art Fraser Park, yes the Rotary Club of Fort Nelson raised the funds to put that park in place! There would be a lot less laughter from children in the summertime!
The indoor playground at the Northern Rockies Recreational Centre! Yes that was us!
What's the next project? Well that hasn't been decided yet but you can guarantee that it will make Fort Nelson a better place to live! Join us become a Rotarian today, Fort Nelson and the Rotary Club of Fort Nelson could use your help. We meet on Wednesday's at 12:00 at the Sierra Lounge in the Fort Hotel, come on in.

On Saturday, April 24, 2010 the Rotary Club of Fort Nelson held a Car Wash for Mashbat Suzuki and raised $500.
