Donations/Refund Policy

The Oilsands Rotary Club of Fort McMurray AB. raises funds on-line for a variety of community projects. This Donations/Refund Policy applies to anyone who makes an on-line donation to the any of these projects. As your donation is being made online without our assistance or involvement we ask that you complete your details and the amount of your donation carefully as it involves a substantial amount of administrative time to deal with and rectify any errors. In summary:

  1. There is no minimum donation.

  1. Donations are non-refundable.

  1. All credit card transactions will be processed in Canadian dollars.

Errors in Amount Pledged

Should an error be made in the amount of any donation, the donor has 60 days in which to notify the Rotary Club of the error. All requests for refunds must be made in writing by post to The Fundraising Chair, Oilsands Rotary Club of Fort McMurray AB, Box 5895, Fort McMurray AB. T9H 4V9. The request should have the details of the initial donation including the date, amount, name of the donor.

Change of Heart on Donation

Refunds of the amount pledged cannot be made simply because you have changed your mind. It is for this reason that we ask that you make your choice to donate carefully. The Rotary Club is under no obligation to give a refund, but will ensure that any genuine errors (such as to the amount donated) are rectified.

Errors by Us

Greetings Rotarians,

We've changed the format of our club to focus on committee work with regular club meetings occurring on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Meetings will occur at 5:30 pm in the evening at the Sawridge Inn. See you all there!

Matt Pate
Club President
We switched up our meeting time yesterday, meeting for supper instead of our usual breakfast! We heard from Jeff Pardee and Vicky Goidanich about their travels in Brazil, which was quite exciting for the Rotarians that are heading to Brazil for the International Convention this June! Also, we are very proud to induct Liz Haskins, of Coldwell Banker Fort McMurray into the Oilsands Rotary Club! Welcome Liz!

Welcome Anne Mulrooney! Inducted as a member of Rotary Club of Fort McMurray Oilsands on January 20th, 2015!

Club member, Helen Duncan enjoyed visiting the Rotary Club of Peachland's meeting this past week and just so happened that it was the same meeting where our past member, Madeleine Nixon was inducted!

Please note that our regular Tuesday morning meeting will be moved to Wednesday, November 19th (7:15am at the Sawridge) to accommodate our District Governor's schedule:) Feel free to join us!

Greg, the club's Sergeant at Arms and the Chief of Bylaw Services in RMWB along with Joelle, the club President attended the Remembrance Day ceremony this year at MacDonald Island and laid a wreath on behalf of the club.

Recently, Rotary members came together to offer the help of holiday support to a local non-profit, The Children’s Centre, that works on the front lines and with the most vulnerable of our community. The Children's Centre evolved when gaps in existing services for at-risk children 0 to 6 years of age, and their families, were identified within Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Join the Fort McMurray Oil Sands Rotary club in support of Hope international at the Film Premiere and Dinner on Nov 4, 2013 (6:30pm the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre), The club membership is proud to contribute to this cause of sustainable humanitarian support to the developing world.  This year the film, Hope for every Child, we see the world through the eyes of children, both here and home and in the mountains of the Dominican Republic where inspiring stories of hope are emerging amidst the poverty.
