60 Years of Service Legacy Project
Twinning Balwin School Basketball Court
To celebrate our Rotary Club’s 60 years of service, we wanted to create a Legacy Project that would make a lasting impact in our community while reflecting our core values of children, family, and service.
The Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast is proud to support the development of a new basketball court at Balwin School. This project reflects the Club’s ongoing commitment to creating positive opportunities for students and strengthening the community through service.
The project will also include a recognition pole to acknowledge the partnership between Balwin School and the Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast. The pole will have a style similar to a peace pole, although it will not be designated as one. The Rotary Club will provide the pole, while the school division will arrange for its installation. One side will feature the Club’s name and Rotary wheel, while the school will design the remaining sides.
Additional improvements being considered include seating, shade structures, and garbage receptacles. Through this Legacy Project, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast is helping create a welcoming, active, and lasting space for Balwin School students and the wider community.
