Join us for a physically socially distanced installation picnic! We'll pass the gavel and install our new officers and board members for 2020-2021. Please bring your own drinks (alcohol is permitted) and enjoy a safe, boxed dinner from Zarda BBQ. We'll have individual Nothing Bundt Cakes for dessert. I'm excited to share with you our next upcoming district-wide meeting(s). This is one you don't want to miss.
Coming on the heels of the district's statement on inclusivity yesterday (which is attached to this email for your reference), next week's program will be all about diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Our speakers will be Danielle Johnson, a partner in Inclusive Growth Strategies and Associate Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Wichita State University and Joseph Shepard, the Director of Multicultural Engagement and Campus Life at Newman University.
We'll cover topics like the importance of DEI, unconscious bias, who needs to be at the table for these discussions and even next steps our clubs can take. To allow for dialogue and maximum participation, we're offering the same program twice during the week. GREAT NEWS!!! The Kansas Leadership Center has completed their program scheduling update due to the Covid 19 pandemic. All programs will be virtual for the remainder of 2020. The sad news is you will miss out on the personal contact with other leaders in Kansas, motel rooms and road trips. The good news is you will not have any travel cost and possibly more importantly -THE LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS WE CAN HAVE IN LEAD FOR CHANGE AND EQUIP TO LEAD HAS BEEN REMOVED!
