KITCHENER VIDEO STUDIO GRANT President Lorna King presenting Principal Mick Panko with a cheque for $5,200.00 to cover the cost of creating 2 Video Studios at Kitchener School. This a continuing commitment by Oskaya to work on Literacy projects with Kitchener School and Sacred Heart School on an alternating basis.

Russell W. Shoeman Russell W. Shoeman September 16, 1959 - August 13, 2021 We mourn the loss of one of our Charter Members who passed away at the Regina General Hospital on Friday the 13, 2021 Russell was very active in Rotary and was an unofficial Photographer of Rotary in Regina. Russell was always available to help all you had to do was ask and he was there. His passing will leave a big hole in our club and in the lives of all our members and members of the Regina Community |

INBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENT Our inbound exchange student for 2018-2019 is Justus Tillmann. He is from Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. He is in Grade 11 at Michael A. Riffel High School and states that he is having a great time as the school is fabulous. Have a great year Justus.

OUTBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENT Karla Friesen is our outbound exchange student for 2018-2019. She is in Bonn Germany and she has informed us that she is loving the experience. Have a great year

OUTBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENT Chanda Semple is our Outbound Student for 2017-2018. She left Canada in late August for Kosice, Slovakia. She will be there until July. She is very excited about her experience so far in Slovakia and has done a lot of stuff she says. Have fun Chanda and will see you when you get home.

INBOUND STUDENT Flavia Trevisan is our inbound exchange student from Piracicaba, Brazil. She is 17 and going to Archbishop M.C. O'Neill High School in Grade 12. She has settled in nicely and is enjoying school and her new found friends. All the best to you in the upcoming year

He received Titan Award, Extra Curricular Award for Curling, Drama, Soccer and Track and Field Top Marks for Health Science, Pre-Calculus and Physical Science. Sacred Heart Literacy Project On Monday June 19, 2017 Ray Ruth Foundation Chair and Treasurer presented Dave Magnusson Principal of Sacred Heart Community School with a cheque for $6,000.00. the Club raised $3,500.00 and $2,500.00 came from a District 5550 Grant.

Kitchener Christmas ProjectOn December 17th, 2015 Oskaya members and our Taiwanese exchange student, Jacob, delivered Christmas Bags to Grade 4 and 5 students at Kitchener Community School. This project has been a passion of our club for 8 years. It first began with shoe boxes and one class of approximately 17 students in 2007. We now fill backpacks or bags for 50-60 students from 2 grades and 4 classes.The bags are filled with books (reading and activity), toques, gloves, socks, crayons/markers, tooth brushes, body wash/ shampoo, toys/games and candies. Each bag is individually labeled with the child's name making the presentation more personal. We love to see their expressions as they receive their gift, which may be the only one they receive. We are glad to help with in our Rotary community and we love our partner schools.

September 2nd meeting-All Clubs BBQ in Rotary ParkPlease note our meeting on Wednesday September 2nd is an All Clubs BBQ event in Rotary Park. Cost is $15.00 per person. Event starts at 5:30 pm with supper at 6:00 pm. Remember to bring a lawn chair and bug spray. Hope to see you there!

Monday June 18, 2012 the Interact Club of O'Neill High School held their windup supper at Boston Pizza Rochdale. Fun was had by all and Ms. Baudu supplied a cake for the occasion.

Triumphant GSE Return
This evening we were blessed with a presentation by Shauna McKim who was our candidate on the Group Study Exchange to England in September/October 2011. She gave us a great overview of her four weeks in England and told us it was very hard for her to return to Canada as she fell in love with the country and her host families. We are currently looking for candidates to go to India in 2013. Pictured is Shauna with President Elect Avril Jones.

Talk of the Town - Access 7 - Jeff Straker ConcertPaul Dhillon of Regina Oskaya represented the club on Roger's television show 'Talk of the town' and spoke about Rotary and the upcoming concert! Catch it on the 13th and 16th of January! Talk of The Town Monday - Friday at 12:00, 4:00, and 10:00 PM Talk of The Town is a daily show on Access 7 for both young and old. It runs Monday to Friday, 3 times a day at Noon, 4pm and 10pm, If you're looking for the latest scoop and upcoming events taking place here in the Queen city, Talk of The Town is where you'll find it. It gives non-profit organizations a chance to promote their latest events, fund raisers and concerts. You'll also see rising stars have their first chance to shine and have the first look at new authors before their latest book even goes to launch. What a great way to start off 2012. We welcomed back Roger Currie who has re-joined out club. And to highlight this momentous occasion, we had a full house with every one of our members in attendance. It was nice to see all our members out for the first meeting of 2012. First Days
On Wednesday September 21st, we donated two tubs of school supplies to the Grade 7 and 8 class at Kitchener School. We were very pleased to have District Governor Eva Vida in attendance at the presentation. This is the 3rd year that we have done this project.

Bowling Night Farewell
February 9 we all went to Golden Mile Bowl and held a farewell for Joan MacDonald who is going to Mexico for a couple of months and then to Uganda to finish her University course. Good Luck Joan and hopefully we will see you in the summer

Santa Claus Parade
On Sunday November 21st, the Annual Southland Mall Santa Claus parade took place. Our esteemed Exchange Student Michi Matsui was honored to be on the float and had a great time. Outbound Exchange Students 2010-2011
Chelsea Ries is our outbound exchange student for 2010-2011. She is presently at Archbishop M.C. O'Neill High School in Grade 12. She is president of our Interact Club at O'Neill. She will be leaving for Spain for one year. She leaves in late August

Polio Awarness
On Saturday October 16, the Rotaract of Regina Auxilium held a Polio Awareness dinner. They had approximately 200 people out for a fun evening of Lasagna and lots of door prizes. They raised between $1,800.00 and $1,900.00. Great work for a small energetic club.

Kitchener Back Packs
December 20th marked the 4th year that our club has donated Back Packs to the Grades 3-4 and 4-5 classrooms in Kitchener School. This year we had 31 children in the two classrooms and 4 extra back packs for any new students or prizes for excellence. Russell took the pictures and Michi and Letica our able Exchange Students helped with the delivery. Unfortunately we cannot put up pictures due to Privacy Issues with the school. The students were very thankful and each one gave us a thank you card.

RCMP Sunset Ceremony
On July 1, 2013, President Andre Fagnou undertook his first official duty as president. Rotary Club of Oskaya was honored by the RCMP as special guests at the 1st Sunset Ceremony of the year at RCMP Depot. A good showing of members were then presented with a small luncheon at the Officers Mess. Pictured is Andre and Chief Superintendent Louise Lafrance taking the salute of the Cadets on parade.

Inbound Exchange Student 2010-2011
Please welcome Michiyasu Matsui our inbound exchange student. He likes to be called Michi. He is from Owariasahi Japan. He will be here until July of 2011 and will be attending O'Neill High School. He is 17 and very sports minded. Please plan on some activities with him.

IRR Bowling Night
For those who are wondering about IRR Bowling Night. It was the Interact, Rotaract and Rotary bowling fun night. We had 16 bowlers and two observers. Each team was made up of Interact, Rotaract and Rotary. Team Rotary won. Fun was had by all and everyone agreed we have to do more of this in the future. Pizza was donated by Juliana Pizza and everyone said it was the best. We raised approximately $110.00. We have one commitment from a member to match with $100.00. Proceeds are going to be donated to the school in Afghanistan. Any one wishing to put in extra that would be greatly appreciated. The donation will be in the name of the three clubs.

Christmas Back Packs
On December 18th we held our 3rd Annual Christmas Back Packs to Kitchener School. This year we did two classrooms for a total of 40 students. We packed them on Wednesday night with much fellowship and pranksters in attendance. The students were most appreciative of the gifts.

Racquel Miller is our outbound exchange student for 2009-2010. She went to Campbell Collegiate and is presently in Denmark for a year.

On September 23rd Stevie Baggs came out to talk about his Foundation in Florida and Georgia. It is the CETA Foundation and he works with Inner City Youth.

Welcome to Leonardo Asen our Inbound for 2009-2010. He is from Sweden and will be going to Archbishop M.C. O'Neill High School. He loves to play hockey and soccer and will probably try out football while at O'Neill. He will be playing on their school hockey team. Make sure to welcome him warmly at our meetings

Welcome our 2015-2016 Exchange Student, Yi-Jeng Lin who likes to be called Jacob from Taichung City, Taiwan. He is attending Arch Bishop M.C. O'Neill High School. He is in Grade 11 and looking forward to playing basketball. Have a great year with lots of new experiences and fond memories!

On December 20 we delivered 40 back packs to Kitchener School to two Grade 4-5 class rooms. This is the 4th year that we have done this and again it was well received by the students. Backpacks were filled with hygiene products, candy, clothes, school supplies and toys. Ida Mikkelsen from Denmark and Ina Bensch from Germany our inbound exchange students from our club and Regina Eastview club were in attendance to present the back packs and have their picture taken with each student. We cannot wait until next year to do this again.
