Last week we heard the news about Immediate Past President, Bill Kelly's fragile health situation.
Ken and I had an opportunity to deliver a meal and visit him and Barbara today.  Bill really loves this Rotary Club and there is a good possibility that Barbara will bringing him to our meeting for a brief drive by to see us and say hello this Thursday. This will be a great opportunity to see him. I encourage you to attend if you can.  He will not be coming inside it will be in the parking lot. Mike and Denise will be delivering food on Wednesday and we will have a sign up for the rest of the month for anyone interested in providing food for the family of four. Bill still has his appetite :-)

I announced at the meeting that the board accepted the application and approved Lois Gordon to become a red badger for our club by the end of this month. This is your official notice to reply if you have any reason to contest her as a new member.
 
Our Guest speaker was Major General Kent Hillhouse, United State Army, Retired
He shared his experiences and memories, specifically as a past employee of the Pentagon and the 9-11 tragedy that hit there.
 
  • It's time to kick into high speed in getting our parade float completed and sign ups for the Oct. 1st Santa Clara Parade of Champions. Be sure to check in with Colleen on helping with building and decorations for our float and Harbir for working the booth the day of the parade. We will need all hands on deck.
  • Sign ups for the District 5170 Avenues of Service will begin this week during our Rotary meeting. Please save the date and plan to attend at Mission College on Saturday Oct. 15th. The Club will sponsor the registration fee for the first 10 people to sign up.
