Our guest speaker for November 20, 2025, was Kyle Winn of First Tee North Coast. Kyle is the Chief Program Officer for First Tee North Coast, having joined the organization this year. Kyle was previously with First Tee Coachella Valley for 4 years where he helped expand the organization and raise over $400,000! Before joining First Tee full time he worked as an assistant golf professional at various courses, including our own magnificent Bodega Dunes course. He was born in Sacramento and attended college at UC Santa Cruz.

Kyle’s original professional goal was to become a head golf professional at a major golf club, but after attending his first meeting of First Tee at Harding Park in San Francisco he joined First Tee as a part-time instructor and eventually became a full-time employee of First Tee in the Coachella Valley. First Tee’s mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. First Tee has 150 chapters in the U.S., Mexico, Puerto Rico, Morocco, South Korea, Australia, and Canada. It has programs for all age groups from age 7 through the teen years. The program is low/no cost to make sure that every kid who want to participate can join. First Tee is a mixture of in-school programs, usually at established schools using physical education teachers along with First Tee teachers, and the green grass program, which helps teach students about golf. First Tee is not a golf program; it uses golf as a means to improve kids’ lives. Kyle also explained that First Tee actively participates in community outreach and seeks to work with any community program that would like to work with it.

Kyle is hoping to build First Tee North Coast into an important and vital youth organization. He expects to work with over 1,000 children this year. First Tee North Coast currently has programs at golf courses in San Rafael, Rohnert Park, and Windsor. Thank you, Kyle, for the wonderful presentation.
