Our Club and Guests this week

At this week’s meeting we inducted two members. Heather de Kok, a returning former member whose classification is Manager/Florist and Jeffery Nketiah, a new member whose classification is University Philanthropy. We would like to give both of them a very warm welcome to our club.

Our First Scholar from Elder Doctor Frances Whiskeyjack High School

This week we were honoured to hear from Tanya Singh, or first Scholarship recipient from Elder Doctor Francis Whiskeyjack High School. She is a member of the first graduating class from this new school and was also a member of the Rotary Interact Club at that school. She told us that she thinks that joining the Interact club at EDFW was one of the best things she has ever done. She made many new friends and really enjoyed her time with the club and all of the service activities they did. She also had the opportunity to attend RYLE (Rotary Youth Leadership Experience) where she had the opportunity to meet many new people, to learn more about Rotary and to gain a better understanding of how big Rotary is and what we stand for- Service above Self. She said that she now has many great memories of the fun she had both at school and with Rotary and eloquently thanked us for making these opportunities possible. We wish her well in her future studies.
