Shark Tanner Winner Service Project

Bleacher Replacement Service Project

This year, we tried a fun new way to launch a service project, Rotary Shark Tank! Our Rotarians pitched project ideas, and the winning proposal received funding to move forward. The winning idea: replacing worn-out wooden bleachers with durable aluminum bleachers at the North Shore Rotary Little League Complex.
Today, we partnered with the North Shore Little League and Challenger Division to install aluminum bleachers at three fields. It was incredible to see everyone come together to meet a real need and serve our community. Service above self in action!

Literacy Event at Cimarron Elementary

Reading is fun at Cimarron Elementary!

We’re grateful for the opportunity to be guest readers at Cimarron Elementary’s Literacy Event yesterday ! Sharing the joy of reading with students is always a rewarding experience and one that reminds us how powerful literacy is in shaping futures.

Participating in activities like this helps Rotarians live out our values of service and community connection, while supporting October’s Rotary theme: Community Economic Development. After all, strong literacy skills build the foundation for lifelong learning, opportunity, and growth in every community.

Thank you, Principal Dr. Janie Jimenez and Cimarron Elementary for welcoming us, and to all the Rotarians who volunteered their time to inspire the next generation of readers!

God & Churchill - A Presentation By Jonathan Sandys

Posted by Bill Parker on Apr 02, 2016
"We cannot tell what lies ahead. It may be that even greater ordeals lie before us.  We shall face whatever is coming...The right to guide the course of world history is the noblest prize of victory." Sir Winston S. Churchill: August 20, 1940 - 'The Few'

Great grandson of Sir Winston Churchhill

Jonathan Sandys, a great-grandson of Britain's wartime Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, was the speaker at the club's March 31 meeting and presented a very enlightening and attention grabbing presentation about his great grandfather to the club.  Jonathan is an international public speaker on the life and times of his illustrious relative and the impact Sir Winston still has on the world today.
