Bear Hugs - Satellite Club September ProjectProviding a cuddly bear to a child who has been traumatized or abused can be comforting and our club is gathering new bears for this purpose. Jean Mollard is leading the project in association with "Blankets and Bears" non-profit. Our goal is to gather 50 brand new Bears, 25 Blankets and $1,000 cash for professional counseling for the children who have been traumatized. Thank you to PROSPERITY BANK for stepping up as a $1,000 sponsor for the project! Rotarian's are the leadership of our community and represent great companies such as Prosperity. We appreciate everyone's help with this project ![]() Bears and items can be dropped off at The Redlands building located at 400 N Queen Street. |

Supporting Abused and Neglected ChildrenAbused and neglected children received assistance from the Rotary Club of Palestine for the June Service Project. The Satellite Evening club members delivered food and health care items to the Child Protective Services Closet (Rainbow Room) and Refuge of Light. The CPS Closet caseworkers can pull items from the closet and give to the children who are temporarily removed from dangerous environments and sheltered in a safe haven. Refuge of light operates a safe home dedicated to the provision of physical, mental and spiritual healing to girls, 10-17 years old, victimized by child-sex trafficking within the United States. Rotary is dedicated to supporting numerous needs in our community, and we are dedicated to Service Above Self! ![]() L-R: Satellite Members Rachael Johnson, Lisa Priest and Sloan Shuffler organize items for the CPS Closet Service Project. ![]() Rotarian Linda Walton (Center) coordinated the June Satellite Service Project with Refuge of Light representatives and delivery assistance from William George and Co. |
