A lifetime community member of Beaumont, Allen graduated from West Brook High School and has served the District her entire career of 23 years. Her extensive experience ranges from a substitute teacher at Fehl Elementary; biology teacher at Clifton J. Ozen Magnet High School, where she served as department chair and district curriculum writer and presenter; elementary school curriculum coordinator; assistant principal and magnet coordinator of  Clifton J. Ozen Magnet High School; principal of Marshall Middle School; and principal of Clifton J. Ozen Magnet High School. She is currently leaving her position as Associate Superintendent to assume her role as Superintendent of Schools.

She earned her bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry from Prairie View A&M University and obtained her master’s and doctoral degree in education from Lamar University.

Heavily involved in the community, Allen is a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont, Southeast Texas Workforce Commission and the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. She has been recognized for her work over the years and been the recipient of the A & M Outstanding Classroom Teacher Award, Region V Middle School Principal of the Year, Lamar University’s Outstanding Doctoral Student and most recently recognized by Pioneering Women. She resides in Beaumont and has been married to Red Allen for nine years.

Allen makes history as she is the first female to be appointed as superintendent of the Beaumont Independent School District.
