PROGRAM PREVIEW
August 22, 2018

"Safe Water for All?  Recent Projects in Haiti"

John Robinson
Founder
Water-4-Nations
(with Mayor of Creve, Haiti)

In the United States, we are fortunate to have safe drinking water (absence of disease causing organisms and harmful chemicals). Many people around the world die every year because they do not have access to safe drinking water. Water-4-Nations would like to change this.

Water-4-Nation's mission is simple: improve the water quality for those who do not have access to safe drinking water.  By working with missionaries, church groups, community leaders, and other groups, the organization improves water quality and thereby improves the quality of life for many people.

To tell us about Water-4-Nations and its life-saving services, we welcome the founder, John Robinson.  John is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a Masters in Chemistry. He is currently employed with Evoqua Water Technologies, Municipal Services as District Manager.

Our Club's service work in the community is on-going and continuous.   The Service Projects Selection Committee considers all service project ideas with which the club can become involved.  Past projects have been rewarding, and it's time to continue serving our community.  Submit a proposal for consideration.

This is an on-going continuous effort; please submit proposal as a need arises.

March 7, 2018 was certainly a day to remember for our Club.

The person who led the way for women to be admitted as full and equal members of Rotary International, and who went on to become the first woman to hold the position of President of a Rotary Club anywhere in the world visited the Rotary Club of Beaumont to tell her story.  What a privilege it was to be with her and hear of the legal struggle that took place just a little over thirty years ago!

Thank you to Rebekah Maxwell for service as Chair of the International Women's Day program, and to Becky Mason for being the impetus behind Dr. Whitlock's visit to Beaumont and for handling the necessary arrangements.  Many thanks to all the Rotarians who served on the 2018 International Women's Day committee.

Thank you to Paula Bothe and Four Alarm Productions for recording the event so others might enjoy it and so our members can re-visit the occasion again and again.

And now, welcome to the March 7, 2018 meeting of the Rotary Club of Beaumont:
